This blog was originally dedicated to update my friends and family on the details of my recovery from a traumatic spinal cord injury (SCI). I later began writing myself and now use this blog to document my journey through life with a spinal cord injury.

Surgery is over!

An update from Ann at 2:55 pm:  The surgery went as well as it could under the circumstances. They put in some more screws and rods to secure the vertebrae and took out as much shattered bone as they could. I haven't seen him yet, but my parents say he is very tired and in pain.

Carson began surgery at 7:30, he came out at about 12:30. Making it about a 5 hour surgery.

The ICU said that Carson absolutely cannot have any visitors until he is out of the ICU. I assume this means anyone that isn't in the immediate family. That could happen tomorrow or Saturday or maybe even later than that, we aren't sure at this point. We will keep you posted. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
