This blog was originally dedicated to update my friends and family on the details of my recovery from a traumatic spinal cord injury (SCI). I later began writing myself and now use this blog to document my journey through life with a spinal cord injury.

Visitors:

Again, PLEASE NO VISITORS! Unless you have received confirmation from the family! Carson loves to talk. Today I've been able to better recognize when he is tired, people might not realize he is so tired if they haven't spent as much time with him as I have, and he is far too kind to say it. Even after I  gently reminded him a couple times, he still wanted to talk. It boosts his spirits so much! However, the doctor and his parents pleaded that we let him get the rest that he needs.

Also, those that are allowed to visit, please make sure that you are feeling healthy and well before you consider coming to the hospital.

His parents have likewise had a hard time deciding who makes the cut to be able to see him. His parents are too kind to say no, so I am in charge of doing it for them. The interesting thing is that everyone feels like they are one of Carson's best friends, AND THEY ARE! However, that does not make them exceptions to the rule at this point. His parents appreciate people driving down to visit him, but they know it comes at a cost. The goal is for Carson to get better, rest is a very important part of that. Please respect their wishes.
