This blog was originally dedicated to update my friends and family on the details of my recovery from a traumatic spinal cord injury (SCI). I later began writing myself and now use this blog to document my journey through life with a spinal cord injury.

Thanks for the Love! Keep it Comin!

Carson's family expressed so much appreciation for all the overwhelming amounts of support they are getting. They have had hundreds of people offer to help. I overheard Stephen, Carson's father, talking about how overwhelming all of this is for him. Its like drinking from a firehose. There are so many things that the parents need to deal with themselves that make it hard on them. I wish I could relieve the pain for them, but some of the things they just have to do themselves. They do, however, recognize the strength that has come from everyone's prayers!

They wanted to thank everyone who has written letters on the googledoc! Those are the perfect thing for when Carson wakes up in the middle of the night and when he is lonely. We gave him over 40 letters! Don't feel like you can only write one time! Write him as many times as you'd like!

Many of you have offered to help out in any way. Thank you so much for your support and willingness to help. I was talking to Camille and she said that the most frustrating thing is that everyone feels helpless, herself included. Its really a game of hurry-fast and wait-long, especially for the family who has been waiting in the hospital all day.

They have received a lot of encouraging stories from people who have come to visit. There have been so many people with stories of paralysis far worse than Carson's who have recovered to a point where they can walk again! While I was there, the person sharing stories with Stephen (I'm sorry I've forgotten your name), said that there "is ALWAYS good reason for irrational hope." We have no way to be sure that Carson will never walk again. Until we know that for sure, let us all err on the side of faith!
