Carson's family expressed so much appreciation for all the
overwhelming amounts of support they are getting. They have had hundreds of
people offer to help. I overheard Stephen, Carson's father, talking about how
overwhelming all of this is for him. Its like drinking from a firehose. There
are so many things that the parents need to deal with themselves that make it
hard on them. I wish I could relieve the pain for them, but some of the things
they just have to do themselves. They do, however, recognize the strength that
has come from everyone's prayers!
They have received a lot of encouraging stories from people who have come to visit. There have been so many people with stories of paralysis far worse than Carson's who have recovered to a point where they can walk again! While I was there, the person sharing stories with Stephen (I'm sorry I've forgotten your name), said that there "is ALWAYS good reason for irrational hope." We have no way to be sure that Carson will never walk again. Until we know that for sure, let us all err on the side of faith!
