I just got an update from the family that ten minutes ago Carson went in for his second surgery! Pray for the doctors working on him!
This time they're going through the back of the neck to repair any other broken vertebrae and maybe take out shards of bone if there are any remaining.
He slept well last night, but the nurses called his family this morning and said he woke up a little scared about the surgery. Then they said that they prayed (I don't know if it was Carson or the nurse) for comfort and that his spirits were lifted as he was getting ready to go in for surgery.
Carson is using today to rest. They ask that no one come visit him today so he can rest and recover. Tomorrow, those that have been cleared by the family can go and visit him, the family said he still won't be ready to see a lot of people.
However, there is something you can do! Write him a letter that he can read today! I am going to go down to the hospital and drop off the letters that people have written since yesterday and today. The moments when he is alone and awake are the hardest for him. Lets give him something to do while he isn't being visited!
